duquette on ny air

vp of baseball ops jim duquette is on blimp, er, mike and mad dog today. here are some quotes:

• on Os having to play Red Sox, Yankees, "we've had a pretty big turnover in the roster ... i don't expect [losing mentality] to be an issue this year"
• on MASN, "it's the only way ... to compete" with big-market clubs
• he did not attempt to push back when mike & mad dog implied Orioles have no shot at post-season
• on Yankees, "we catch them the second series of the year. maybe we can take advantage" of weaker rotation
• what's a good year for Os? "i think .500" "we'd sign for .500 right now" "maybe you're in the hunt middle of the year and make a trade"

the wayward O is not overly impressed with his performance. whatever. everyone sez Os will be better. the only thing that matters is wins and losses.
