let's draw up handy timeline to see if we can figure out which oriole disparaged organization "off the record" for tom boswell's march 3 column:

Fascinating analysis. I am wondering, tho, who exactly the "anonymous oriole" had in mind when he said "'WE'" should have done this"? Could "we" be the same people/person who gave huge contracts to Gibbons, Melmo and the other gloops who are still clogging up the system?

i think what he's trying to say is he had no real control over roster and fell victim to backchanneling between players and da bossman.
