did we Over-rate the cubs?

well the certainty points system seems again to have done its job, at least so far, predicting three of four teams to advance out of baseball's division series.

perhaps the system over-rated the cubs, who got shtoonked by the dodgers in three straight.

did we give them a point too many for wrigley field? or a point too many for sweet lou?

nah. the cubs were 55-26 at wrigley this summer. that's tampa-like and deserves a certainty point, the team's october home futility notwithstanding.

and sweet lou is the bill parcells of baseball ... he can turn a team around because people play for him.

moreover, even minus two certainty points the cubs would have had more certainty points than the dodgers.

so we conclude, per the system, that the terrible randonmess of octOber -- not to mention the fearsome bat of manny ramirez -- was the over-riding factor in the cubs demise...
